JEWELRY AND JEWELRY DESIGN PROGRAM

Jewelry and Jewelry Design Department students will gain the basic knowledge and skills required for the profession in workshop courses, while also receiving the necessary art education that will reveal their observation, analysis and creativity. Students will be able to capture the artistic thinking dimension, create methods, gain all theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field in technical and design studies, and during this process, students will be able to create an original design language in line with their production ability and personality.

It is important to protect the national assets in our country and to spread our culture by multiplying them. In our country, which has various values ​​in different fields, especially in handicrafts, there is a need for a qualified workforce to transfer these values ​​and to renew them. The aim of the department is to train skilled craftsmen in their field as well as to train qualified individuals in design who believe in the necessity of an intellectual effort in society and art, and to train a workforce that will document examples of our traditional handicrafts such as filigree making and production within the scope of jewelry and jewelry design, which are our regional handicrafts, and to transfer the produced knowledge to today's technology. At the same time, our aim is to bring self-confident designers who will establish their own workshops, produce and provide training in art workshops to the national economy.

Who Can Register for the Program?

Students are accepted to the associate degree program of the Department of Jewelry and Jewelry Design through the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) conducted by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM). Those who have received a score of at least 150 and above in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) score type is entitled to register if they are placed in this program within the quota in the Student Selection and Placement System (ÖSYS) preference procedures.

Graduation Requirements

Students who have taken 120 ECTS credits in the associate degree program of the Department of Jewelry and Jewelry Design and successfully completed all courses, have no FF, YZ, DZ grades, have a General Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 60 out of 100 and have fulfilled other obligations can graduate. Students cannot graduate with a missing credit below these credits. In addition, students must complete their internship consisting of 8 ECTS credits included in the fourth semester course program in order to graduate from the program.

Transition to the Next Level

Graduates who successfully complete the jewelry and jewelry design associate degree program can take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM;
